Tram

Heaton Park tram stop is on the west side of the park, about a 10-minute walk from the start area. It is in Metrolink zone 3 on the Bury line.

From the tram stop, cross the main road and enter the park. Head straight down the path to the end, then turn left at the junction. The start area is at the top of the hill near Heaton Hall and the Stables Café.

Bus

The 135 and 59 buses serve Heaton Park from Manchester city centre.

The 135 is a frequent service which stops near the tram stop on the Bury Old Road side of the park. Directions from the stop are the same as for the tram above.

The 59 bus stops on Middleton Road side of the park. Head into the park and follow the road with the heritage tram tracks alongside it. When you get to the first junction, turn right and head up the hill - the start area is at the top!

Car Parking

Hall Car Park

The nearest car park to the start area is accessed from St Margaret's Road, however this will likely be very busy.

There is a larger, quieter car park off Sheepfoot Lane that is slightly further away from the start area.

Facilities

There is a toilet block near to the race start area, just past the Stables Café. Please do not use the toilets in the Stables Café.

Additional Information

Start time and distance:

Women's: 1:30 PM, up to 8K

Men's race: 2:30 PM, up to 10K

To enter please fill out this form by 30/09/2026 and transfer £14 to the club. If that date has passed, please ask a committee member and you may be able to enter some of the remaining races. There will no entries on the day.

If this is your first race this season, you can collect your number from a committee member before the start of the race. You will need it for future MACCL races so please keep it safe. If you have raced before, you should have your number already. If you have lost it, you can get a replacement from administration at the race.

You will need to run in Manchester YMCA Harriers colours (either a vest or a t-shirt) so please come equipped to do so.

There will be a tent for bag storage and changing.
