Welcome to the Website of Manchester YMCA Harriers.

We are one of the longest established running clubs in the UK, [ 127 years old ! ] and have our headquarters at the Y Club, Liverpool Road, Castlefields, Manchester.To join us, you must have a membership of the Y Club, there are different packages available.

We have approx 140 members, and cater for all levels. There are Club Championships for Road ( Summer ), Cross Country, Fell and Track. The club also enters various Relay Races, and appears at the Welsh Castle's and Cross Keys Events whenever possible.Runs are organised from the Cafe Bar of the Y Club on Monday and Thursday evening's, with a 6.30 pm start. Thursday is our "Club" night, with planned routes, and an ideal way to get to know our club if you are a newcomer, or indeed a visitor to our city either on business or vacation. Details of the runs are posted on the Club Notice board, as well as updating on all relevant club news.

July 4th - Tockholes Fell Race, July 5th - Alexandra Park 5k, July 7th - 5,000m Track Race.

June 28th Sotos 10k - Fleetwood - Very hot conditions ! prov finishing positions - still  awaiting official times.

After a long battle with cancer Stephen Barlow passed away peacefully on April 14th 2009.

A honorary member of Horwich RMI Harriers who had been a member from twelve years old, he had represented his club, county & country at all levels and in many disciplines of running with a great deal success. Steve had been very close to our club - he sometimes trained with our weekly Club Night Runs on a Thursday and also attended some social events. Everybody at Manchester YMCA wish to express our sincere condolences to Steve's family and everybody at Horwich RMI .He will most definitely not be forgotten.

GUIDE TO THE FELL TRAINING RUNS Runs will be approx 45-60 Mins
Come along and meet other members of the club and take part in
a friendly training session on the hills at various venues.
These sessions will help anyone wishing to compete in the forth-coming seasons fell races and club championships. The runs are open to anyone to come along and join in. All will be run as a group and at a pace suitable for everyone.
